Congratulations to Lynette Smith, CEO of TruEnergy Federal Credit Union on being inducted into the African American Credit Union Coalition Hall of Fame!

Smith is one of the five 2021 honorees inducted into the AACUC Hall of Fame, which include Anthony Bailey, Jim Blaine, Gerald Brooks, and John Pembroke.

According to AACUC Board Chairman Larry Sewell, this year’s honorees “are shining examples of professional excellence.  Each one is a stellar leader and contributor to the credit union movement.”

Smith has been in the credit union industry for 31 years and has served for the past twelve years as the President/CEO of TruEnergy FCU (formally Washington Gas Light FCU).  She also serves on the AACUC Board and the Metropolitan Area Credit Union Management Board.  Smith was also awarded CEO of the Year for credit unions under $150 million in assets by NAFCU.
